The parent company Wellington Market Company is a public company created by an Act of Parliament in the middle of the nineteenth century and can trace its history back to 1244 when Wellington Market was established by Royal Charter. It is the only public company whose core business is operating markets and our activities include the operation of indoor markets, outdoor markets and car boot sales. Town & Country Markets Limited is a 100% owned operating subsidiary of Wellington Market Company and is the leading private sector retail market operator in the United Kingdom. Currently it operates markets at 35 locations throughout England and Wales from its own freehold premises, leasehold premises and licensed locations providing around 5000 stalls each week.
