Toronto Inner-City Rugby Foundation (TIRF)

Launched in 2011, TIRF is a rugby centred community development organization. We use rugby in an inclusive and aspirational model that inspires youth to dream and empowers them to achieve on and off the pitch. Employing a collaborative approach, TIRF works to: -Provide access by removing financial, geographic and cultural barriers at all levels of the sport from the classroom to the stadium. - Share and impart rugby's core values of integrity, solidarity, passion, and discipline. - Build skills, social and professional networks that provide transitional and transformational opportunities through academic support and scholarships, leadership development, and employment. - Engender an ethos of volunteerism and civic engagement providing youth a platform to give back through rugby. We have 12 programs, provided 1,000+ youth the opportunity to play rugby, introduced 12,000 children to flag rugby, and disbursed over $72,000 in scholarships to our rugby and community champions.
