Thornton Science Park is based just outside of Chester, and is a major research and innovation hub. Formerly the site of the Shell Technology, Exploration and Research Centre, its takeover by the University of Chester has created the opportunity to apply the Centre’s legacy to the continuation of innovation and research in science and engineering in the North West.Thornton Science Park is home to the Faculty of Science and Engineering and is the study base for students studying Engineering, Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science courses.For businesses, Thornton not only encourages open innovation, but the opportunity to work with leading academics in the field of Renewable and Alternative Energy sources, Electronic & Electrical engineering, Chemical engineering, Mechanical engineering and Natural Sciences.
