The Record Co.

We’re The Record Co. — a 501c3 nonprofit community music workspace fighting for music makers in Boston. Cities are an increasingly difficult place for creativity to thrive (particularly when that creativity is noisy!) We exist to make sure that no matter who you are, no matter why you make music, you can keep making it. We provide affordable recording studios (and soon rehearsal space!) to all of Boston's music makers and we approach everything we do through a lens of cultural equity. A few of our values: ACCESS. Music making is for everyone — no matter your gender, race, class, sexuality, or other status. We champion those with less access and we welcome all with radical hospitality. WORK. Music makers are workers who should be fairly compensated. They deserve to control their own creative process and the use of their work. COMMUNITY. No heroes, no assholes. The best music scenes thrive on mutual trust and respect. Every music maker deserves to learn, grow, and progress in a supportive community.
