The history of Tessitura Monti is rooted in the middle of the 1800s, at Varago in Maserada sul Piave when the weaving of cotton and hemp was a widespread domestic activity. Continuing the business of his ancestors who came from Carnia, Giorgio Monti produces in his home workshop quality fabrics that he sells on public holidays. In 1911, the three Giorgio's sons, Evaristo, Venerio and Bruno found officially the Monti brothers company. The quality of the fabrics, above all woven goods for work clothing, sailcloth, and fabrics for the home, support further expansion of the business. After the Great War that invades the territory of the Piave River, the Monti brothers firm commits itself vigorously on the fronts of work and of constant development. More than one century of industrial commitment to quality textiles which continues until today with the same tenacity and far-sighted entrepreneurial vision. Whether it is a matter of a technological or a commercial choice, or whether to acquire within the group a complementary business, or to invest in the continuous training of personnel, five generations of the Monti family have pointed without hesitation to the future.

Tessitura Monti S.p.A. is the European hub of yarn dyeing, finishing and weaving activities, as well as Group Head Quarter and world-wide competence center for shirting fabric excellence.
