Technical University of Lisbon - UTL

The Technical University of Lisbon (UTL) is one of the largest, most renowned Portuguese universities. Was founded in 1930 as a result of a merger of four existing higher education establishments and it has currently 24,330 students (18,094 taking undergraduate and integrated master's degrees, 3,910 taking master's degrees and 1,881 in doctoral programmes and 445 students of lifelong learning) and its annual budget is around 170 million euros. The UTL aims to be a leading European university in training professionals to the highest standards and to be at the forefront of scientific research, innovation and services. In their specific areas, the UTL schools are the largest and oldest in Portugal. All of them run centres, institutes or other bodies devoted to research, cooperation, international relations, business and links with society all over the world.
