Australia’s largest Atlantic salmon producer with its principal activities being hatching, farming, processing, sales and marketing of Atlantic Salmon. Its wholly owned subsidiaries include Tassal Operations Pty Ltd and Aquatas Pty Ltd. Currently Tassal Group harvests in excess of 20,000 tonnes of salmon per annum. This accounts for approximately 70% of Australia’s entire Atlantic salmon production.The company is predominately based in Tasmania, with marketing offices located in Melbourne, Victoria.• 2016 : Benchmarked as the number one salmon and trout farming business in corporate, social and environmental reporting by Seafood Intelligence. Tassal has been in the top three since 2012.• 2015 : Tassal incorporates DeCosti Seafoods.• 2015 : Tassal becomes the first food producer to be awarded the Australian Business Award for Sustainability.• 2014 : Tassal becomes the first salmon company in the world to certify all their farms to the ASC standard.• 2012 : Recognised as a Tasmanian Employer of Choice. • 2012 : Tassal and WWF announce the WWF-Australia and Tassal Sustainable Aquaculture Partnership for sustainable aquaculture. • 2010 : Recognised by Business Review Weekly (BRW) as the 'Most Respected Industry Leader'​ in the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sector.• 2010 : The world's largest salmon hatchery oficially opened at Rookwood Road near Huonville, producing four million young salmon, or smolt, annually.• 2009 : The Salmon Shop opens in Hobart. • 2003 : Tassal Group Limited is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
