Sukulu Project

Uganda’s Sukulu phosphate comprehensive Industrial development project was invested and developed by Guangzhou Dongsong Energy Group Co (U) Ltd. This project was reached under the consensus between Uganda and China and it is one of the key projects in Uganda’s vision 2040 and one of the key projects in SINO-Uganda Economic and trading investment cooperation.Sukulu phosphate deposit is rich in mineral resources including phosphates, iron ore based on which Dongsong Energy Group Co (U) Ltd will establish benefisiation plant, fertilizer plant, a steel mill and supporting power plant, glass factory, cement factory and a sulphuric acid plant. The total investment of the Sukulu Phosphate project will be $620 million and the project will be put under full operation by June 2019.This project will generate over 2000 new jobs to Ugandans and increase its economic and social economic benefits which will ultimately promote the development of Uganda.
