STS Flooring Distributors is the largest independent flooring wholesaler in the south/south east of England.With its Head Office and main depot in Orpington and depots at Basildon, Croydon, Watford and Cambridge, Our dedicated fleet deliver from the coastline of Southampton around to Great Yarmouth and inland to Peterborough.The Company is owned and controlled by Ray Colgate, Managing Director, Stuart Gay, Finance Director and Jim Flockhart, Sales Director.STS stock over 6,000 product lines from over 50 manufacturers. STS offers next day delivery service from it's stocks of all types of flooring materials and accessories, including vinyl tile and sheet, carpets and carpet tiles, wood, laminate, accessories including screeds, adhesives, nosings, underlays, metals and tools together with other sundry flooring products. Broadly any flooring product that the contract floorlayer or flooring retailer requires, we can supply.In addition to its flooring products, the Company recently added and has successfully launched Simplyclad® , a competitive range of wall-cladding products to its portfolio.STS was formed as Stair Tread Supplies in 1965, over 50 years ago. Through its history it has merged with and acquired other flooring distribution companies, been through a number of sales and also management buy-outs. The latest MBO took place in 2008 when Ray Colgate and Stuart Gay acquired the controlling interest in the company, thereby maintaining and continuing the company’s independence.In early 2011, STS opened up its Walls Division and now promotes Simplyclad®, its own brand of wall cladding. In July 2014, STS started to support its core contract activities by expanding into the retail sector. Work to develop the company’s activities in the wall cladding and retail sectors, whilst maintaining significant presence in the contract market, continues to the present day.The business ethics of STS have served the test of time and are based on the premise that distributors need, above all else, quality products, immediate service and technical assistance with a personal touch.
