About Streamwood Park District

Formed in 1966, the District owns and maintains over 280 acres of land at 44 locations. Many or the park sites include playground equipment designed for different age groups of children, as well as those who are physically challenged. Several parks feature paved pathways for walking, jogging or biking. Ball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, disc golf, a fishing pond, inline skating, skateboard court, and a sled hill and splash pad are all available for residents' enjoyment.
The Park Distnct also operates Park Place Family Recreation Center, a fully-equipped fitness center, senior center, aerobics sludio, a two court collegiate-size gymnasium and elevated running track.
Other Park District facilities include a Cornrnunity Center, the Hoosier Grove Barn & Banquet facility (www.HoosierGroveBarn.com), the Hoosier Grove Museum (www.hoosiergrovemuseum.com) , Sunny Hill Park and Freedom Run Dog Park.
The Streamwood Park District provides facilities and a variety of programs to meet the needs and interests of residents. The District provides more than 400 recreational programs each year. Classes, trips and special events are offered each season for residents ranging from preschoolers to senior adults. A brochure describing programs and events is published three times a year and is available online at www.spdcares.com.
