Stradis has been creating broadcast-quality MPEG-2 video decoder boards since 1997. We offer products today that address virtually any professional MPEG-2 decoding need and operate in systems installed in over 40 countries worldwide. Superior output quality and ease of integration have made Stradis the MPEG-2 decoder of choice for professional video solutions. Developers and integrators design our products into systems for on-air automation and distribution of advertising, programming, and news video, and deploy these systems in broadcast television stations, cable TV systems, and private television networks. Stradis products are also popular with developers of digital signage systems that require high-quality video output. Our ease of integration comes courtesy of the Stradis application program interface (API) for Microsoft Windows®. Delivered via the licensed Stradis software development kit, the Stradis API gives applications complete control over all decoder functions. The API supports up to 16 Stradis decoders in a single computer, with synchronized playback among all cards. The Stradis decoder line is software-compatible, allowing models to be selected as needed within a given application. Stradis was acquired by Vitec Multimedia in 2008.
