Stewart’s Shops is an employee and family-owned convenience store chain with over 330 shops across upstate New York and southern Vermont; known for offering milk, ice cream, coffee, Easy Food, gasoline and convenience items.Stewart’s employees own nearly 40% of the company through the Employee Stock Ownership Plan, or ESOP; a benefit for anyone working 1,000 hours a year. That’s why employees are called ‘Partners.’ Along with health insurance and paid vacation, ESOP participants are offered paid maternity leave, discounted YMCA gym memberships and daycare, as well as a Make Your Own Scholarship program which provides college scholarships to partners’ dependents.
