STEM Preparatory Academy
STEM Preparatory Academy, headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, is a pioneering public charter school network dedicated to providing a rigorous, inquiry-based STEM education to the vibrant and diverse South Nashville community. Established in 2010, the academy was founded with a bold mission: to serve Nashville’s structurally underrepresented subgroups and prepare every student—regardless of home language or immigration status—for college graduation. Today, STEM Prep operates two high-performing schools: STEM Prep Academy Middle School (grades 5-8) and STEM Prep High School (grades 9-12), both of which are recognized for serving a significant percentage of limited English proficiency students.
In 2014, the academy expanded its reach by launching the Nashville Newcomer Academy, one of the largest programs in the nation designed to support new arrival immigrant and refugee students and their families. With a dedicated team of over 100 mission-driven educators, leaders, and support staff, STEM Prep is committed to ensuring that each student achieves their college graduation goals. The academy boasts impressive ACT scores, national growth data, and numerous accolades, all of which underscore the effectiveness of its innovative approach to education.
Parents and students alike have shared glowing testimonials about the transformative impact of STEM Preparatory Academy, and the founding alumni, including the college-graduating class of 2023, stand as a testament to the academy's success.
