Stand Beside Them, Inc. (501 (c)(3) is a national nonprofit headquartered in New York City, providing free coaching to transitioning military and their spouses/caregivers.Our mission is to coach and empower America's military veterans and their spouses/caregivers to achieve success at home, at work, and in the community. We partner veterans or their spouses/caregivers who apply on our website with certified professional career, life, executive, or health & wellness coaches from our roster of 150 SBT coaches across the country, to help them attain the happiness and quality of life here at home that they so deserve after serving our country. Whether it is in finding employment, starting new businesses, completing their educations, improving personal relationships, assessing for new vocations, or locating health care to fully meet their needs, our Stand Beside Them (SBT) volunteer coaches are here to help veterans and spouse/caregivers transition successfully to civilian life. We work with them for a successful reintegration in all environments: work, family, and the community. Some veterans need to adjust to a different kind of life and environment due to injuries received serving our country, and our coaches are here to guide them in setting and attain new goals, helping them rebuild self-esteem and confidence to surmount all of the new challenges. In sum, we are available in our supportive capacity, coaching and encouraging our returned veterans and their families every step of the way to overcome the variety of obstacles here at home that can cause stress, anxiety, and despair. Coaching does not substitute for mental health assistance, and if PTS, traumatic brain injury, or other psychiatric factors are involved, we will help guide those in need to the best available medical care and provide the coaching when they are ready..
