Being shortlisted for ‘Pre-Prep Department of the Year 2019’, in the Independent School of the Year Awards, confirmed to parents and pupils what they already knew; Spratton Hall is an exceptional school. Although academic achievement is highly valued and many pupils go on to receive scholarships to some of the best schools in the country, our approach is to always ask ‘How can we give our pupils more?’. To begin with, we have a challenging and creative curriculum that is more than just the core academic subjects. IT, languages, sport, drama, music, dance are firm fixtures in the calendar for all ages, while older children can try sewing, construction, gaming, photography and robotics to name but a few of the 65 extra-curricular activities. This rich range of subjects helps Spratton pupils uncover their real strengths and find their true voice from an early age. With literally acres of top class sporting facilities, Spratton Hall has a ‘more is more’ approach to sport, and as a result the children are fit, healthy and competitive. Both girls and boys enjoy a combination of P.E., hockey, tennis, football, rugby, netball, cross country and athletics. Having multiple teams for each year, means that all our pupils get the opportunity to proudly represent their school in their favourite sport.Finally, we recognise that schools need to help make life more manageable for parents, as it can be a challenge to organise work and life around the school day. We have established daily minibus routes to safely transport pupils from the surrounding area, free wraparound care to make the school-run more flexible, and afterschool clubs to extend the day in a fun way. Hot and healthy meals and snacks are included in the fees, as we know it is essential to give children the fuel they need throughout the school day.
