Southampton Biz Travel Plan Network

The Southampton Business (Biz) Travel Plan Network is free to join. The Southampton City Council My Journey Team are working with employers and businesses to provide practical support to help encourage employees to car-share, use public transport, walk or cycle for the commute to and from work. By reducing costs associated with travel, this can help businesses work in smarter ways, saving time and money which helps to improve competitiveness. The principal way in which we work in partnership with businesses is through the Travel Plan Network. The aims of our network is:-To offer a forum for sharing information, ideas and best practice for travel planning initiatives-To increase awareness of sustainable travel options-To reduce vehicle trips to partner businesses and the associated carbon emissions-To identify potential cost savings for businesses-To identify more efficient ways of working-To identify and address existing barriers to sustainable commuting and business travel, helping to alleviate traffic congestion on the local road networkWe would like to invite all local business to join our network.The benefits:- You will be part of an existing network of businesses/organisations from across the city and wider Hampshire area, who share best practice and support each other.- You will contribute to making our city an attractive, economic, safe and healthy place to live work and study.- You have the opportunity to apply for council funding through our annual Workplace Travel Plan Grant programme.- Your organisation can apply for national 'StarsFOR'​ accreditation and could receive a bronze, silver or Gold award for your work, relating to sustainable travel inside your business.- You will receive invitations to other local events relevant to the environment, transport and sustainability.Please email our team: [email protected]
