Information
The joint University of South Dakota and South Dakota State University Master of Public Health (MPH) program develops public health practitioners and leaders to address public health needs of rural and underserved communities. In partnership, the program adopts an interprofessional approach in addressing the five core areas of public health: biostatistics, epidemiology, health administration and policy, social and behavioral sciences, and environmental health. An MPH is the most widely recognized professional credential for practice and leadership in public health, and this is the only program of its kind in South Dakota.Students complete nearly all required coursework online and work in partnership with public health organizations through practicum and capstone projects.
