OUR HISTORY:
SM Magnetics started in 2000 as an online retailer by George Mizzell in Vestavia, Alabama. George’s electrical engineering and his curiosity to understand complex magnetics issues quickly made him a valuable resource for customers looking for solutions to their magnetic challenges. George began documenting magnetics solutions through is online YouTube channel, which have now been viewed millions of times and helped countless customers.
During the early 2000’s it was obvious that the company was starting to experience growth in the “custom magnet and magnetic assembly” business due to George’s ability to provide great solutions to tough magnetic problems. This lead to George selling the majority share of the company to individuals who complimented and contributed to the further growth of the company.
Today SM Magnetics brings magnetics experience, testing and quality programs, manufacturing facilities and experience. We now work with customers in virtually every industry and can offer engineering and design services, and manufacturing capabilities from concept to mass production. We look forward to continuing to partner with some of the most innovative companies in the world and push the boundaries of magnet technology, unlocking new possibilities across multiple industries.
