SARBE beacons are now amongst the most technologically-advanced available, featuring digital satellite communications, Global Positioning by Satellite (GPS) and programmable functionality. Designed to operate reliably in all circumstances, many of our products incorporate automatic activation and antenna deployment, ensuring that distress transmissions are initiated even if a survivor is unconscious or injured. In 2000, a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) was created for use on land, sea or air. That same year, Global Positioning System (GPS) technology was introduced to both the Emergency Positioning Indicating Rescue Beacon (EPIRB) and the PLB.
