Sierra Frac Sand, LLC was established in 2008 by Kim R. Smith. Kim grew up in Tatum, TX and began his career in the logging industry.Coming from 30 years of experience in the logging industry, we at Sierra Frac Sand understand the value of loyalty and dependability. Our success is based on conducting loyal, honest and ethical business practices along with making smart business decisions while staying debt free. When they deal with Sierra, loyalty and dependability are exactly what they get.Our production began in 2008 with skilled and diversified employees shifting directly from the logging industry into the oil and gas industry. The goal was to produce and supply frac sand to hydraulic fracturing operations to stimulate the production of oil and natural gas. With hard work and determination the goal was accomplished. A successful and respected company was established.Sierra Frac Sand, LLC has developed a program with well over one million tons of annual production capacity. An estimated 30 million tons of premium northern sandstone deposits and approximately 50 million tons of “EF” deposits. In addition to our sand production, we also produce LGC (Liquid Gel Concentrate) otherwise known as “gel”. Production of guar gel can reach up to 500,000 gallons per month with 70,000 gallons of storage.
