Sharp UK – Clinical Services and Commercial SOD Packaging

Sharp UK in South Wales - which opened in 2019 after a £9 million investment - is our state-of-the-art European hub for Clinical Services offering multiple-phase pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging and distribution services to the pharma industry. In January of 2020, Sharp UK added a commercial license to its capabilities and now also offers commercial packaging in multiple formats, including cold and thermoform blisters, bottles, capsules and medical device kitting. The facility at Rhymney enables Sharp to satisfy the increased demand for Phase III clinical trials and commercial services including primary and secondary packaging with low humidity control, labelling, storage and distribution, QP services as well as controlled drug storage. Sharp also offers technology-related solutions and expertise in support of our clinical and commercial clients, including serialisation for commercial packaging and an innovative and robust Interactive Response Technology (IRT) solution for clinical trial management. Our team at Sharp UK has been providing clinical trial supply packaging, labelling and distribution services since 1988. Today, we offer both clinical and commercial contract services to pharma companies, particularly those small to medium-sized or virtual organisations who may have less experience of the clinical supply chain or who need a specialist to support their small volume, high value drug products.
