Solar Energy Consultants (SEC), is a Northern California residential Solar company headquartered in San Jose, California. SEC focuses exclusively on residential solar power solutions for homeowners wanting to become power independent from expensive utility companies, seeking a greener source of energy and an option to reduce their overall carbon footprint for future generations. SEC was founded by William Wood, CEO and founder in 2016 after interviewing almost a thousand solar customers about their overall experience with solar. SEC wanted to understand how homeowners felt after their initial solar purchase to how satisfied they felt one to four years later, to understand homeowners' concerns and pain points, as well to identify areas for improvement and opportunity. These key performance factors have defined what is now called the SEC certification requirements.The SEC Difference.The company's approach is to provide options and more importantly, solutions. SEC is intentionally performance-based and brand-neutral when deciding on the products and services they offer. This gives consumers a premium experience in selecting the right solar solution and understanding the need-to-know-facts about solar that most companies are unwilling to share. Our first priority is to determine if solar is a viable option by conducting a complete and detailed analysis of the homeowners’ roof and surrounding areas in order to make a well-informed decision. During his initial career, William, our founder, had chosen to only work with installation companies that demonstrated quality workmanship and backed their installations with 25-year company warranty. SEC continues to uphold the same standards by offering a 25-year company backed warranty. Unlike most of the industry, we do not subcontract, meaning all work performed is completed by trained and approved company installers.
