Scottish Animal Welfare

Scottish Animal Welfare is Scotland's only 24 hour animal welfare organisation. We are a not for profit organisation. We are a frontline organisation that provides 24 hour assistance to the general public and will respond accordingly in the event an animal has been injured, is in distress or has been abandoned - wild or domestic. Our Inspectorate investigates reports of alleged cruelty and neglect and if required, can submit a report to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service. Our head office is based in Glasgow however we have divisional support officers throughout the whole of Scotland. We have various facilities for the purposes of the rehabilitation of animals however, these facilities remain staff only and are not open to the general public. Scottish Animal Welfare operate a fleet of vehicles that are positioned strategically across Scotland, our staff are trained in all manner of animal welfare with most of our operational inspectors joining the organisation following departure from other animal welfare organisations. Our Inspectors have over 56 years combined experience dealing with animals in Scotland, from investigations and prosecutions of neglect to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of animals. Our staff are mostly volunteers and receive no pay in return for their time, this in turn means that any money coming into the organisation is spent on the needs of animals and not on endless salary's. We receive no government or lottery funding as we exist entirely to help animals.
