About Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc.

The mission of the Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc (SNAHC). is to carry out the legacy of a healthy American Indian and Alaskan Native community based on cultural values delivered through traditional, transformational, innovative, accessible, and self-sufficient systems of health care.

SNAHC is a non-profit 501 (c)(3),Federally Qualified Health Center, located in Midtown Sacramento. The health center is committed to enhancing the quality of life by providing a culturally competent, holistic, and patient-centered continuum of care.

SNAHC is community-owned and operated. Since our grand opening the center staff has grown to meet the needs of the community, 30% are Native American from both local and out-of –state Tribes. Our goal is to develop an experienced and capable Native American workforce comprised of experts in their chosen fields.

The health center’s dedicated team of highly-trained clinicians offer a wide range of services, including: adult medicine, pediatrics, mental health services, laboratory services, comprehensive dental care for children and adults, substance abuse services, nutrition and diabetes care, and home visitation services.

Our center plays a major role as part of the “safety net” in the Sacramento area, where recent changes to Medi-Cal benefits, and the managed care environment have resulted in significant portions of the population left with little or no access to mainstream health care. We are proud of the important characteristics that distinguish us from mainstream health care providers and health systems. We are rooted in and responsive to our local community, we share a common sense of mission and purpose, and we have proved resilient in the face of challenges and change. Beyond providing health care, our goal is to contribute to the development and empowerment of all members of the Sacramento community.
