how does one tell the story of two jewish boys, raised as mommys’ boys, fathers of sons, lovers of no-bullshit food? How does one tell a story about a lifetime in search of warmth, love, and caring? how do you convey the passion and the angst, the purpose and the drive? to best understand our story, it is fitting to relate a brief anecdote about a perfectly designed dish presented to the head chef by a newly hired sous chef. the sous was eager to please, feared rejection, and aimed for perfection and accolades. he carefully constructed his dish and presented it with trepidation. chef examined the dish, the stacking of the food, the carefully placed sauces, the detailed design, and said to him: “shake the plate. shake it, break it, serve the next 1000 like that and don’t f*** it up.” that’s it, a simple story, easily digestible. -AR & RW & Sons & CS (w/daughters) thanks for eating our ‘ food
