Richmond Elevator (REM) was established in 1974, by Walter and Irene Zachata as a source of elevator installation and maintenance for low-rise apartments. From modest beginnings, REM has grown into a highly successful third generation business providing elevator service for many applications. As a leader in elevator manufacturing, REM provides high-rise traction and low-rise hydraulic packages for a variety of applications. We also know that it is important to provide the right elevator for the right building. We offer custom designed packages in addition to a wide variety of standard products. With new elevator installations in excess of 9000+ units and thousands of units under contract maintenance, REM has earned the distinction of being the largest independent elevator company in Canada.
