REDCAR BULK TERMINAL LIMITED is a Port Owner and Operator. The port of Redcar is situated on the South Bank of the River Tees on the North East coast of the United Kingdom. The terminal operates a 320 metre long quay which can accommodate cape size vessels up to 17 metres draft and is fitted with 2 x Ship Unloaders operating on grab or hook for bulk or conventional cargoes respectively. The wharf is HMRC approved and enjoys direct rail access to the National Rail Network and excellent road links to both the A19 and A1(M) . Vessel Size (Max). Length 304 metres. Beam 48 metres Draft 17 metres The Terminal is equipped with 2 x Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes (1 x 63t and 1 x 42t) with both bulk and hook capability. The unloaders have a travelling length of 300 metres and in Bulk (Grab) mode working in unison are capable of achieving offloading rates in excess of 40,000 tonnes per day. Bulk materials discharged are transferred by conveyors into a large open bulk storage area prior to being stock piled with stacker re-claimers. The Terminal area which is immediately adjacent to the quay extends over an area of 320 acres providing storage capacity for both bulk and conventional cargoes alike. The extensive Terminal area immediately adjacent to the quay has the capability to provide short / long-term storage space for a variety of bulk cargoes as well as conventional and project cargoes. The availability of storage space make it an ideal port to handle large project cargoes along with the assembly / disassembly of offshore wind projects. Redcar Bulk Terminal is equipped to handle rail with separate load and offload bulk handling facilities. The loading of rail wagons is carried out by overhead hoppers directly fed by conveyors whilst off-loading of rail wagons is achieved by bottom discharge into underground hoppers and conveyor system linked directly to the stockyards enabling the swift handling of rail traffic to and from the terminal.
