About Rainbow Center for Communicative Disorders

Rainbow Center is a nonprofit organization serving children and adults with special needs. We opened our doors in 1977. Initially established to assist children with developmental disabilities who need a more intensive therapy program within an academic environment, we began with only three students.

In July 1996, Rainbow Center expanded our program to include adults with disabilities too severe to function within a supported employment or sheltered workshop setting. Today we serve over 115 individuals with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and other communication and/or behavioral disorders.

OUR MISSION is to provide a safe, nurturing and social environment in order to serve persons with special educational and developmental needs. And OUR VISION is to become the Center for excellence where special educational and developmental needs are met and the capacity to grow are continuous.
