Prospect Hospice

Prospect Hospice provided dedicated end-of-life care and support for more than 7,300 people from Swindon and north-east Wiltshire in 2017/18. We provide our care in our In-Patient Unit at the hospice in Wroughton, in the homes of patients through our locally-unique community based nurses and Prospect@Home service, and also to patients at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon. We have Therapy and Family Support teams who offer therapy support, a day hospice, group work and one to one carers and bereavement support, as well as dietary welfare advice . We have a nationally-accredited education and training arm that looks to raise the understanding of end-of-life care issues with healthcare professionals and worked extensively with care homes across our operating area, offering a wide range of training courses. In recent years we have expanded our education offer, looking to work with other health and social care providers to meet their training needs.In addition to our main hospice site in Wroughton we also have our Wellbeing Centre based at Savernake Hospital near Marlborough, which also offers many of our services to people living in Marlborough and the Vale of Kennet. We do not offer in-patient support at the Wellbeing Centre. Prospect Hospice is a charity and we depend on the local community to bring our care to patients and their families. With just over a quarter of our income coming through statutory sources, the greatest share of the £8.4m it cost to deliver our care and services last year was raised through activities including 18 shops, fundraising events and challenges, a weekly lottery and many more community-focused activities. We achieve this through a dedicated retail and fundraising team, supported by the skills, experience and generosity of hundreds of volunteers, who collectively help the hospice achieve our goal of reaching more people who need our services.To find out more about Prospect Hospice, please visit www.prospect-hospice.net
