Prairie College

Prairie College began in 1922 in the town of Three Hills, Alberta. Its focus today is on preparing and equipping Christians for careers that will meet real and significant needs in our world. Prairie is an accredited, four year, degree-granting college that has a wide degree of program offerings that help fulfill its mandate. Degrees are awarded in Pastoral, Youth, Humanities, Business Administration, Outdoor Leadership, Global Social Justice and Theological studies. Two-year programs at Prairie College include Practical Nursing, EMT, Aviation, Music and Worship Arts, and Sports Management. Additionally, Prairie offers one-year certificates in Bible, Outdoor Leadership and Intercultural Studies.All programs at Prairie include a Bible and Theology core combined with an integrated spiritual development focus. Programs and college life are designed to help students develop as lovers of God as they acquire the skills, character, and knowledge necessary to live out meaningful vocations that create positive impact for the Kingdom of God in our both our local and global communities.True to its non-sectarian roots, Prairie now represents one of the most denominationally diversified, yet distinctively Protestant theological/philosophical faculties in the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU), with an Anglican priest, a graduate from Westminster Theological Seminary, a Wesleyan, an Anabaptist former pastor, and several professors not associated with any particular denomination. With roots in Christian orthodoxy, Prairie has shed its association with strict Christian fundamentalism and rediscovered its broad focus of Protestantism including evangelical Anglicanism and Presbyterianism.
