Potts Welding was founded by Walter Potts in 1929 as a boiler repair business. It was incorporated in 1965 in the state of Delaware and operated essentially unchanged into the 1970s when Potts Welding capitalized on the opportunity to diversify by strategic acquisitions and internal growth.

Today the company employs approximately 200 full-time employees; constituting a world class team of professionals including welders, boiler-makers, engineers, draftsmen, machinists, mechanics, technical and non-technical specialists, sales, procurement, and administrative personnel.

Potts specializes in the fabrication and repair of boilers and related component parts, heating and cooling equipment, heat exchangers, condensers, and the sale of boiler and heat exchanger tubing. The manufacturing of pressure parts for the boiler industry is accomplished at Potts' main production facility located in Newark, Delaware, in a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant. The facility is situated on 16.5 acres housing 180,000 square feet of manufacturing and ancillary space. Potts extensive parts and tubing inventory is stocked to meet customers' daily and emergency requirements and has shipped boiler parts to virtually every continent.

Potts still operates a small field service group out of its main site in Newark, Delaware. Providing piping, overhaul and repair services to several loyal and original customers.
