Rio 2016 Committee’s mission is to deliver excellent Games, with memorable celebrations that will promote the global image of Brazil, underpinned by social and urban sustainable transformation through sport, contributing to the growth of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements.

The Rio2016 is a nonprofit, private company, responsible for planning and delivering South America’s first Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In order to host the world’s greatest sporting event, the Organizing Committee’s headcount will reach more than 100,000 people, including 70,000 volunteers. Between August and September 2016, Rio de Janeiro will host more than 10,500 athletes and thousands of media professionals, sports fans and tourists from various countries.
