The agency engages with over 367,000 current and former public employees or their beneficiaries, and maintains important data about their public employment service, salaries, and other information. PERS also administers a health insurance program for retirees (PERS Health Insurance Program) and a 457(b) voluntary deferred compensation program (Oregon Savings Growth Plan).
