Welcome to Orchard Hill College. We are a community based specialist college offering educational opportunities for students over 16 years old with a wide range of special needs.Our ‘can do’ approach permeates every aspect of a young person’s experience. From first contact with the College we are constantly looking at what skills they would like to develop and how these impact on the lives they want to live. Young people develop and mature during their time at College and the dedicated team of support surrounding them offer opportunities that will improve their independence and confidence.Orchard Hill is an Outstanding College (Ofsted 2013), which we are immensely proud of as this recognises our students’ fantastic work and achievements. Ofsted reported: ‘outcomes for learners are outstanding’, ‘teaching, learning and assessment are excellent’ and ‘the extremely diverse programmes that meet learners’ individual needs, interests and aspirations, prepare them very well for life after College.’Improving opportunities and outcomes for our students is at the heart of everything we do. For young people, especially those with special needs or who experience other barriers to learning, the world can present many challenges. All young people deserve to leave education confident that they have developed the skills they need to achieve their ambitions, with meaningful education, work and life experiences to draw on.
