Formed in 1988 for the purpose of joint marketing and to establish a collective voice for Ontario East on issues affecting development, the Ontario East Economic Development Commission (OEEDC) has grown from the original 14 members to roughly 125 members. The OEEDC represents an area from Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton on the west to Prescott-Russell and Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry on the east, and from the Ottawa River in the north to the St. Lawrence River/Lake Ontario in the south. The OEEDC promotes Eastern Ontario as a preferred location for business investment through sector-based studies, co-operative marketing campaigns, and lead development services. Ontario East also offers a one-stop shop where investors and their representatives can find the information they need to assess prospects for business success across the region.
