In 1997, the Department of Educational Studies was founded, expanding the College’s departments to three. On July 1, 2010, The Patton College became the home of several excellent programs previously housed in the College of Health and Human Services, creating two new departments. Today, the College comprises five departments: Counseling and Higher Education, Human and Consumer Science Education, Educational Studies, Recreation and Sport Pedagogy, and Teacher Education. Our faculty’s expertise in research, teaching, and outreach extends internationally to four continents. We have distinguished ourselves by establishing partnerships to address social, economic, and educational issues affecting communities worldwide and impacting students’ ability to learn in our public schools. While we strive to maintain a close connection with the community and region, the College’s educational excellence reaches across the world to such places as Honduras, Ghana, Kenya and the United Arab Emirates.
