Oakville Chamber Orchestra

Serving Oakville for over 30 years, the mandate of the OCO is to enrich the cultural landscape of Oakville by creating a passion for chamber music concerts at affordable costs, with a focus on up and coming young musicians -- winners from our annual youth concerto competition. The OCO brings exceptional Chamber music to the doorstep of Oakvillians. We perform regularly in our local community (4 concert weekends per year) and we also perform at charity, private and corporate events. We are a not-for-profit registered charity. The assistance of Platinum Season Sponsor Manulife Securities, and our benefactors Hugo & Tracy Powell, Ms. Gerry Wilson and the Audrey S. Hellyer Foundation have allowed us to expand our youth programs under the banner Youth Inspiring Youth with our concerto competition and Oakville Public Library Children's Cushion Concert and Instrument Petting Zoo – all sellout events. The concerto competition enables young people with experience of playing with an orchestra as a soloist, receiving top quality coaching and provides a forum where young musicians can inspire audiences of other young people. The OCO is proud to support partnerships with ArtHouse, the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, Oakville Arts Council and Oakville Arts Society. Under the baton of Artistic Director Charles Demuynck, our audiences and critics resoundedly agree that our musical quality has never been better.
