It is the Mission of the O'Fallon Police Department to enhance the quality of life in the City of O'Fallon through the protection of life and property, the reduction of crime, the preservation of peace and the protection of individual rights. Located in the O'Fallon Justice Center on Bryan Road, O’Fallon’s Police Department serves more than 88,000 residents. The department handles patrol and investigation, provides crime prevention, traffic control, animal control and a multitude of citizen-focused programs. The department is committed to providing professional police services on a 24-hours-a-day basis every day of the calendar year. The O'Fallon Police Department is proud to work with the community and keep our residents and businesses safe and secure. To that end, the Department offers numerous community programs designed to keep O'Fallon one of the country's safest cities. The Operations Division is the largest division in the police department. Officers patrol the City of O'Fallon 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week, responding to most calls for service. The police department responds to approximately 60,000 calls for service annually. Officers are divided into two 12-hour shifts. Individual shifts are managed by watch commanders, a lieutenant and two supervisors who are sergeants. The City of O'Fallon is divided into eight geographical areas called sectors. The watch commander will assign officers to each sector. When officers are assigned to particular areas of the city, it provides blanket coverage and enhances quicker response times. It also allows officers to quickly respond to other areas as needed. The patrol division prides itself on providing a quick response and serving the community. Every officer assigned to the Operations Division utilizes a marked police car - either fully marked or partially marked. This higher visibility of police presence in the community helps make it less likely criminal activity will occur.
