Our Story The Start of Something New Founded in 1995 by partners, Bob Engelke, Larry Unger, Marty Quandt and Jim Smith, Northwest Mortgage Group is built on a philosophy that puts customer service above all else. Even while the company has grown from a small office in Portland to nine statewide, all four owners continue to work directly with clients, as well as produce and originate loans. The Difference is In-House In-house processing and document drawing makes the loan process so much more efficient for everyone involved, including our real estate agents and buyer clients. Technology is also an essential ingredient in customer service. Northwest Mortgage Group has the latest automated underwriting systems: Freddie Mac's Loan Prospector and Fannie Mae's Desktop Underwriter. We join these systems with our warehouse lines of credit, giving us the unique ability to fund loans internally. In other words, 'exceptions to the rule' are possible.
