About Northeast Mountain Guiding
Northeast Mountain Guiding (NMG), started by Joseph Vulpis in 2009, is one of the largest outdoor education facilities in the Eastern United States with 35,000+ clients/students annually. NMG offers guiding and instructional courses for rock climbing, backpacking, kayaking, mountaineering, ice climbing and various other outdoor sports. They offer services in the Northeast, Southeast and Southwestern regions of the US as well as Alaska, Colorado, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, China, Pakistan, Italy, Spain, Indonesia, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda. NMG is split into 3 divisions: Recreational, Pro-Services and Educational. Their field operations are managed by various Field Directors and Division Directors so they can provide premium service to each and every customer. They are full course providers for the following organizations: Professional Climbing Guides Institute, American Hiking Guides Association, Center for Wilderness Safety , National Association for Search and Rescue, American Red Cross, Mountain Safety Institute, National Canyoneering Association and the American Heart Association. Their Pro-Services Division offers training for Police Departments, Fire Departments and EMS organizations.NMG employees and hires some of the most highly trained professionals in the outdoor education industry with a main focus on the rock and trail based disciplines. They have been a huge part in introducing the Mountain Leader program into the United States as well as forming and training several Wilderness Search & Rescue teams (including the NJ State Police Task Force 1 and FEMA) in areas where they previously didn't exist. NMG currently has 150+ outdoor guides/instructors with 50% of that in the Northeast region of the United States.In 2016 they became the only guiding service of their kind to become a government contractor supplying training and equipment directly with the US Government.
