Serving over 1,000 individuals annually across six counties—Bradford, Centre, Clinton, Lycoming, Sullivan, and Tioga—NCSS offers a comprehensive range of services designed to promote independence and support. These services include preventative vision screenings, financial assistance for prescriptions and eyeglasses, vision loss rehabilitation, transportation, sighted-guide services, support groups, and employment opportunities.

With an entrepreneurial spirit, NCSS operates an industry-based employment program that manufactures and assembles SKILCRAFT® products under the AbilityOne® Program and UniqueSource®. The agency prides itself on its exceptional operational efficiency, boasting a 98% on-time delivery rate and outstanding customer service, which has earned accolades from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), National Industries for the Blind (NIB), and the Department of Agriculture (USDA). Approximately 94% of NCSS’s operations and community outreach are funded through the sale of products and business services, which include Document Management Solutions (storage and shredding), vending services, custom labels, and the innovative Sip for Sight® Bottleless Water Coolers.
