Newman Signs has grown from a one man business to a multi-million dollar sign company manufacturing and selling, billboards, vinyl posters, and banners. Newman Signs is one of the nation's ten largest sign companies with employees in eight different locations across the United States, manufacturing signs and billboards to be distributed nationwide. Newman Signs, Inc. was founded by Harold Newman in 1956. Mr. Newman began the business in his mother-in-law's garage painting signs to pay for college tuition. Upon graduation Newman moved the business to Jamestown, ND where it is today. Newman Signs initially concentrated on billboards and only had 8 employees in 1972, which turned out to be a turning point in the company's history. Newman Signs has grown in part by acquiring sign companies (close to three dozen since 1972) and by moving into traffic sign sales and manufacturing. Most recently, Newman Signs has moved into the commercial and residential fencing industry. All our structures and traffic signs are manufactured at our Jamestown location. The main office is located in Jamestown, with divisions in Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks, and Minot, ND. There are also offices located in Roswell and Las Cruces, NM.
