Newcastle University Raising and Giving Society (RAG)

RAG, or the Raising and Giving Society, spearheads all charity fundraising undertaken by students at Newcastle University. We run multiple events throughout the year raising money for as many charities as possible, whilst also giving back to the community around the local area.Our fundraising events include one off events such as Take Me Out and Strictly Come Dancing, as well as larger volunteering opportunities such as climbing to Everest Base Camp! We also work closely with local organisations such as Keep Jesmond Clean helping to ensure a safe living environment for students and residents alike.The week after January exams sees the return of RAG Week, our famous seven day fundraising event! Help us take over the city to raise as much money as possible for our six chosen charities, meeting new friends and having fun! If you love Fresher’s Crew, you’ll love Rag Week!Last year we raised over £103,000 for charity, and this year we want to do even better, but we can only do that with your help! Members of the society get discounted entry to our events, the opportunity to influence how and who we fundraise for, as well as the ability to join our larger projects abroad!
