In June 2014, Landmark Software and Services, a Halliburton business line acquired Neftex (original company name). Neftex was founded in 2001 and rapidly grew to be one of the leading geoscience consultancies in the world; assisting leading oil, gas and mineral companies with their exploration efforts through the provision of geoscience products, consultancy services, and data management.

The team are experts in the worldwide search, discovery and interpretation of geoscience information. The integrated Neftex global portfolio delivers data, knowledge and insight to help our clients reduce geological risk in their exploration and investment activities.

Since their inception over 30 years ago, Landmark have become the leading supplier of integrated exploration & production software and services; establishing the first interactive 3D seismic interpretation workstation. The integration of the Landmark and Neftex technology suites will result in a digital subsurface representation that is uniquely tied to one stratigraphic model and delivered instantly for any region in the world.
