Information
The National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) advances knowledge of Earth’s frozen realms—its snow, ice, glaciers, and frozen ground that make up the cryosphere. NSIDC makes cryospheric data meaningful and accessible with data access tools and user support, and broadens understanding of cryospheric change through collaborations with indigenous and international communities. NSIDC distributes more than 500 cryospheric data sets for researchers, from both satellite and ground observations. Visit http://nsidc.org to browse our holdings, get information, and download or order data sets. NSIDC is part of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Science (CIRES) at the University of Colorado Boulder.
