National Literacy Trust

The National Literacy Trust is an independent charity dedicated to raising literacy levels in the UK. Our innovative projects in hundreds of disadvantaged communities help young people to become keen and confident readers, writers and communicators. We campaign to encourage individuals, families and politicians to make literacy a priority, giving parents the tools and inspiration they need to support their children. Our research makes us the leading authority on literacy in this country and generates widespread media coverage. Our professional membership provides resources and guidance for schools across the country and in the last year we trained 95,000 teachers. You can support our work while accessing school and family audiences. We work with companies including the Premier League, McDonald’s, Pearson, John Lewis and Uniball. We can also offer staff fundraising and volunteering opportunities.
