The National Association of Letter Carriers is the sole representative of 289,000 city letter carriers employed by the U.S. Postal Service. Our members deliver mail, at least six days a week, to more than 152 million homes and businesses in every city, suburb and town in America. Since it was founded in 1889 by Milwaukee Civil War veterans, the NALC has had a distinguished history as the largest of the four postal unions and is among the country's oldest.
