Müller UK & Ireland is Britain’s biggest dairy company, focused on the production of fresh and flavoured milk products, butter, yogurt and chilled desserts in the branded and private label sectors of the category.The business in the UK has an annual turnover of around £2.4bn and employs 12,000 people. It has a dairy and depot network covering the whole of Britain and buys directly from more than 1,900 farmers. Their Müller Milk & Ingredients business is the biggest milk and ingredients business in the UK and Ireland. They have nine dairies and 12 depots across the UK. Müller Yogurt & Desserts has been in the UK for 30 years, manufacturing yogurt and dessert products like Müller Corner, Müllerlight and Müller Rice from a single site in Market Drayton, Shropshire. It is only within the past 5 years that the business has grown by acquisition and now has a chilled desserts facility in Minsterley where Müller produce desserts for Cadbury under a license from Mondelez. Müller also own a state of the art yogurt production site in Telford which is focused on the development of the company’s presence in the UK private label yogurt market.Key to this growth were two acquisitions in the fresh milk and ingredients sector - of Robert Wiseman Dairies plc (later to become Müller Wiseman Dairies) in 2012, and of Dairy Crest’s dairies business in 2015.Müller also own their own doorstep delivery business, milk&more, which has more than 1190 milkmen and women who deliver around 110 million one pint glass milk bottles and a selection of groceries to 525,000 homes. The milk&more business has one main dairy in Hanworth and over 50 local dairies. Milkmen and women have been delivering to households for over 150 years and milk&more is proud to be a part of this great British tradition.
