Mount Washington College

On August 4, 2015, the Mount Washington College board of trustees announced it was closing the college, which became official when the college formally closed its doors in May 2016.Founded as Hesser Business College in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1900, Mount Washington College continues to follow the principle of providing individual encouragement and assistance to all students instilled by its founder, Joel H. Hesser.Renamed Mount Washington College in 2013, was purchased in 2000 by Kaplan Inc., a for-profit corporation headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, that owns campus and online institutions across the country. Mount Washington College had five campus locations — in Manchester, Nashua, Portsmouth, Salem and Concord, where the school offered associate's and bachelor's degrees in a range of programs including business, information technology, digital media, criminal justice, liberal studies, healthcare management, psychology, and paralegal studies. The school also had an expanded national presence via its online education programs where students could obtain an associate's or bachelor's degree in business or information technology.
