Montgomery County Emergency Service (MCES) offers a range of services for individuals in psychiatric emergencies, including 24/7 crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and acute inpatient psychiatric care. Our trained professionals respond to crises in various settings, providing immediate support and stabilization. We also offer specialized programs for suicide prevention and criminal justice diversion services to assist individuals in navigating mental health challenges.
In the event of a mental health crisis, individuals can access MCES services by calling our 24-hour crisis hotline. Our trained crisis counselors will assess the situation and provide immediate support, guidance, and resources. If necessary, we can dispatch a crisis intervention team to the individual’s location to provide on-site assistance. For those needing inpatient care, we can facilitate admission to our acute psychiatric facility.
Trauma-informed care is an approach that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and seeks to create a safe environment for individuals seeking help. At MCES, we implement trauma-informed care by training our staff to understand the effects of trauma on mental health and by ensuring that our services are delivered in a compassionate, respectful manner. This approach helps to empower individuals and promotes healing and recovery.
MCES offers specialized programs focused on suicide prevention, including crisis intervention services specifically designed to assess and manage individuals at risk of suicide. Our trained crisis counselors utilize evidence-based practices to provide support, safety planning, and connection to ongoing mental health resources. We also engage in community outreach and education to raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental health resources.
MCES provides criminal justice diversion services aimed at supporting individuals with mental health issues who are involved in the criminal justice system. Our services include crisis intervention, assessment, and connection to appropriate mental health treatment. By collaborating with law enforcement and legal entities, we work to divert individuals from incarceration and ensure they receive the necessary mental health support, promoting recovery and reducing recidivism.
MCES staff members are highly trained professionals, including licensed mental health counselors, social workers, and psychiatric nurses. They undergo extensive training in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices for mental health treatment. Additionally, our team participates in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in mental health care, ensuring that they provide the highest quality of service to individuals in crisis.
